The Singles 1992-2003. A band like No Doubt was made for an album like The Singles 1992-2003. While they made good albums - and each of their albums had its own character - they shined as a singles band, which is only appropriate for a band raised on new wave, the last golden era of singles. Unlike the grunge and indie bands that populated the first two waves of the alt-rock explosion of the early '90s, No Doubt wasn't directly inspired by punk, indie, or any underground rock movement; the band was fueled by new wave, in all of its trashy, poppy glory.

and The Singles 1992–2003 sold . million copies in the United States and was certified Gold and Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America on January 16, 2004 and 2 Platinum on July 21, 2004, signalling total sales of over half a million, one million and two million copies respectively. In Canada, the album was certified. No Doubt had doubts on recording a cover and contemplated writing new material, punctuation before citation, and why not just "they" instead of restating the band's name? We would know to whom the pronoun refers, particularly as the previous sentence begins with "the band. Because the band were taking a break I'm aware that this is proper usage in British English, and that there's no seriously compelling reason the article must be in American English, but it stands out as jarring.

The Singles 1992–2003 is a greatest hits album by American rock band No Doubt. It was released on November 14, 2003, by Interscope Records. It features 13 of the band's singles from three studio albums-Tragic Kingdom (1995), Return of Saturn (2000), and Rock Steady (2001)-and the single "Trapped in a Box" from their 1992 self-titled debut album. Being a greatest hits album and containing only one new song, recording The Singles 1992–2003 took very little time compared with the band's studio albums. Production started in September 2003 with the recording of a cover version of Talk Talk's song "It's My Life", produced by Nellee Hooper. The accompanying music video for the song was filmed by director David LaChapelle at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles. Stefani insisted that just because no songwriting was involved in the production of the album did.
