is the debut studio album of American hip hop group Run–D. released on March 27, 1984 by Profile Records. The album was produced by Russell Simmons and Larry Smith. It was considered groundbreaking for its time, presenting a harder, more aggressive form of hip hop. The album's sparse beats and aggressive rhymes were in sharp contrast with the light, funky sound that was popular in hip hop at the time
Eternal Nightmare is the debut album by the San Francisco Bay Area thrash metal band Vio-lence. It was released originally in 1988 on MCA Records' Mechanix sublabel. A limited 10" promo single was released, with two tracks 'Eternal Nightmare' and 'Phobophobia'; the release was quite unique, as it came in a sealed plastic cover, containing (fake) vomit.

If anyone is looking for a classic rap album to start off their collection then look no further than 'Raising Hell' by Run-Dmc. It's probably this album more than any other (alongside The Beastie Boys' 'Licensed To Ill') which is responsible for kick-starting so many people's love & devotion to the music & art of hip-hop during the mid to late 1980's - including mine. In fact it's this album which - in my view - ushered in the nu-skool 'golden-age' of rap of the late 80's. It was groundbreaking on many fronts.
