Frankie Rose (2). Interstellar ‎(LP, Album, Ltd, Cle). It is a great album, but I was hoping for a richer sound on vinyl. Especially for a song like 'Pair of Wings' If you are a big fan of the album, pick it up, but it is not better than digital, imo. Reply Notify me Helpful. Marketplace 80 For Sale from €. 8.

But are we ready for the new Frankie Rose? Interstellar is a revelation, an album that floats free of its maker s history time spent with Vivian Girls, Dum Dum Girls and Crystal Stilts and offers the listener something strangely other, as alien as it is familiar, as compelling as it is enchanting. Talking with Rose about the record, it s clear she was itching for a new start. late one evening I first heard Frankie Rose's Interstellar on UT Austin internet radio. I bought the CD as soon as I could find it and am stunned by the amazing, easy, enjoyable music since.

First things first: The real best album to come out today is Sleigh Bells’ Reign Of Terror, a sophomore album that does everything sophomore albums are supposed to do. It deepens and widens the ferocious assault that Sleigh Bells first introduced on Treats, losing some of that album’s madcap intensity but adding new tricks and sounds and ideas, prettifying that head-rush noise while still pouring on the furious energy. But we ran our Premature Evaluation on Reign Of Terror last week, and you probably don’t need to read two separate Stereogum pieces about why that’s a good album.

Frankie Rose - Interstellar. We were all knocked out by the Frankie Rose and the Outs album from 2010, the effortlessness of its gorgeous girl-pop mantras, the intimate immensity of its Spector-esque walls of reverb, the beauty of a song sung sweetly over the most graceful two-chord vamps

It's an honest record, stripped of artifice, and it will hit you hard if you give it a chance. Much respect to Rose for taking a chance that could have alienated her fan base, even more respect for making a record that builds on the strengths of her debut and spins it out to the heavens, a place where few of her fellow bands will ever find themselves.

Frankie Rose is an artist constantly on the move. Since the mid-noughties, Rose has been rather prolific, serving as a founding member of noise pop outfits Vivian Girls, Dum Dum Girls, and Crystal Stilts, all before going solo with 2010’s Frankie Rose and the Outs, ditching the lo-fi sound of her previous bands in favor of a reverbed take on the harmony-laden 60’s AM pop sound. Two years later, Rose returns, sans her touring band the Outs, with Interstellar. Interstellar may not bring something wholly original or novel to the already crowded scene of like-minded, nostalgic, ethereal pop acts, but its 32 minutes are simply too sublimely crafted to ignore. Essential Tracks: Interstellar, Night Swim.

Former denizen of Brooklyn indie girl groups such as Vivian Girls and Crystal Stilts, Frankie Rose has stepped out on her own and come up with a surprise delight: an enchanting dream-pop album steeped in her multi-tracked harmonies.

Interstellar is a big, second-album leap of faith into deeper waters, a sparkling synth-pop record that wants very badly to mean something to dreamy, hyper-emotional twentysomethings.
