Lisa Ruth Germano (born June 27, 1958) is an American singer-songwriter and t from Indiana. Her album Geek the Girl (1994) was chosen a top album of the 1990s by Spin magazine. She began her career as a violinist for John Mellencamp. Each copy came with an insert painted by Germano. Later that year, she began gathering songs she had been writing and recording mostly by herself at home during the previous two years. She sent CDs of these tracks to labels and friends in the music industry. The first to respond was a longtime acquaintance, producer and label executive Tony Berg.

Geek the Girl's brave whispers hit on more emotional truths than the self-important screams of Germano's mid-'90s, women-in-rock contemporaries.

Lisa Germano is the undisputed queen of sadcore. For more than 20 years, she’s made an extensive and impressive career with her clandestine vision of troubled emotions, lurid storytelling, and isolation. As a much sought-after session player, she’s been contracted from a veritable who’s who of rock ’n’ roll giants. The exquisite singer songwriter Lisa Germano often walks that miraculously fine line between breathtaking terror and intoxicating beauty. Chilling seductive and sorrowful but dressed up like a lovely lullaby to mask the tragic core. Lost and found and lost again along the way to oblivion. What’s most impressive is how fully her magic is intact with just her voice and piano. An essential release made even more marvelous. - George Parsons/Dream Magazine.

Lisa Germano’s haunting, unsettling song about being attacked in one’s home features samples of a real 911 call where this occurred. The song describes the feelings of powerlessness women can experience when dealing with sexual predators and others that seek to harm them A Psychopath" Track Info. Written By Lisa Germano.
