Bruce Springsteen Lyrics. I got a 007 watch and it's a one and only It's got a I-Spy beeper that tells me when you're lonely I got a Batmobile so I can reach ya' in a fast shake When your world's in crisis of an impendin' heartbreak. Now don't you call James Bond or Secret Agent Man Cause they can't do it, like I can I'm a rocker, baby, I'm a rocker - every day I'm a rocker, baby, I'm a rocker. Now I don't care what kind of shape you're in If they put up a roadblock, I'll parachute in I'm a rocker, baby, I'm a rocker - I'm in love I'm a rocker, baby, I'm a rocker - every day I'm a rocker, baby, I'm a rocker - with you. So you fell for some jerk who was tall, dark and handsome Then he kidnapped your heart and now he's holdin' it for ransom Well, like a mission impossible I'm gonna go and get it back You know I would'a taken better care of it, baby, than that.
Back in 1979, Bruce Springsteen was all set to release the follow-up to the previous year's Darkness on the Edge of Town. After legal problems made the wait between that album and its predecessor, the breakthrough Born to Run, a long three years – an eternity in the '70s – Springsteen was more than ready to get back into the studio. He had written and recorded hundreds of songs for Darkness and its follow-up, which was going to be called The Ties That Bind. It's tough to say. In the end, The River was the album Springsteen needed to make at that time. Not The Ties That Bind or any other record filled with the session songs found on this box. But the set uncovers an alternate history that bridges Springsteen's first (his most significant) and second (his most commercially successful) decades.

CBS Records hoped for a Christmas release, or early 1982 at the latest, but Springtsteen scrapped the project entirely after the songs were chosen and the album even sequenced. Hearing that lost album was only wishful thinking for Springsteen fans
Bruce Springsteen is such a huge fan of Pete Seeger that his 2006 album We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions is completely devoted to folk songs popularized by the folk icon. Three years after that, Springsteen and Seeger stood side-by-side shortly at the National Mall in Washington, . shortly before Barack Obama's presidential inauguration. I looked at Pete, the first black President of the United States was seated to his right and I thought of the incredible journey that Pete had taken," Springsteen said at Seeger's 90th birthday concert in 2009.
