The following is a sortable list of cinema films which utilize music of Richard Wagner in their soundtracks (other than films of Wagner's operas themselves). Casual references (and use of the Bridal Chorus from Lohengrin) are not included. Joe, Jeongwon and Sander L. Gilman (ed. (2010). Indiana University Press.

Richard Wagner is obviously an immensely controversial historical figure, both with respect to his and his family's views and, even more pronouncedly, the abhorrent behavior of some people who were admirers of his work.
A great conductor illuminates music you thought you knew in a way that you couldn't possibly have imagined. Here are 50 of the best, mostly drawn from the Gramophone Hall of Fame, and there are many more besides – so keep exploring! Claudio Abbado. A noted interpreter of the music of Mozart, Strauss and Wagner, Böhm is most closely associated with the Vienna State Opera where he appeared frequently. With his meticulous conducting technique and phenomenal ear, Boulez championed the music of fellow French composers, and performed a vast repertoire, old and new. Adrian Boult. Boult was one of the UK’s greatest conductors with a repertoire that embraced a huge amount of new music.
In Wagner, a fine collaboration of Jonas Kaufmann with Donald Runnicles and the Deutschen Oper Berlin, this charismatic German singer traces Wagner’s development as a composer, from Rienzi to Siegfried. His alluring tenor, with its baritonal timbre and expressive shadings, is heard to rewarding effect in selections including Siegmund’s Sword Monologue. An unusual inclusion on the disc is the cycle Wesendonck Lieder, usually sung by a woman but equally effective in Mr. Kaufmann’s poignant interpretation. I would be remiss to omit the album that first lured my ear to Wagner during my agnostic instrumentalist adolescence. Long before I had much use for singers, Otto Klemperer’s masterly chiseled EMI survey of overtures and interludes was an irresistible draw. Revisited now, a few items conform to common prejudice about the sometimes stolid pacing of Klemperer, then aged and infirm.
