The Sermon! is a 1959 album by jazz organist Jimmy Smith. It was produced by the Blue Note record label, and was Smith's fifteenth album in three years. The Sermon was the second of two albums recorded on two dates at The Manhattan Towers Hotel Ballroom, the first was Smith's previous album, House Party (1958)

Monster is an album by American jazz organist Jimmy Smith arranged by Oliver Nelson. Writer Gerald Majer critiqued Monster in his 2013 book of essays, The Velvet Lounge: On Late Chicago Jazz. Due to the material, which includes the two-part "Goldfinger", and the themes from Bewitched, The Munsters and The Man with the Golden Arm, this is one of organist Jimmy Smith's lesser recordings. The LP does have some reasonably inventive arrangements for the accompanying big band by Oliver Nelson and some spirited organ playing, but overall is a rather forgettable and overproduced effort.

Although still a regular Blue Note artist (he would make four more albums for the company within the next year), Bashin' was organist Jimmy Smith's debut for Verve, a label that he would record extensively for during 1963-1972. On the first half of the program (reissued in full on this CD), Smith was for the first time joined by a big band.

1995 studio album by Jimmy Smith Damn! is right up there with his best. work, full of a joyous energy, and it sparked a resurgence of sorts for Smith.
